Spring is the perfect time to visit the Lake District. Not only does the beautiful scenery come to life but there are so many great activities to enjoy while you are here. Here are some of our favourite things to do this Spring…
1.Daffodils on the Ullswater Way
The famous daffodils along Ullswater are a must see during any springtime visit to the Lake District. Widely accepted as the inspiration behind William Wordsworth’s 1802 poem ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’ these daffodils can be seen all around the lake, which makes the Ullswater Way a perfect walk for your next trip. This 20 mile route is ideal for the seasoned walker but there is always h option of hopping and off the Ullswater Steamers for a more relaxing trip.
2. Honister Slate Mine
Honsiter Slate Mine is the perfect place for an adventure in the Lake District! There is so much to see and do, whether it is a fully guided journey though the mines under the mountain or an adrenaline fuelled climb up the original miners track of Fleetwood Pike there is something for every ability and taste at this 18th century mine.
3. Lakes Distillery
Opening in 2015, the Award Winning Lakes Distillery provides a whole new experience for visitors to enjoy. The distillery is located on the shores of Bassenthwaite and provides a great day out for everyone, learn about he history of the distillery, see the spirits being distilled and then (most importantly) enjoy some fantastic samples with your tour guide in the tasting room!
